weather

Greetings.
Just dropping a line to see if anyone might give some words on weather expectations.
I will be travelling into Quito, and spending a few weeks in Otavalo for school/host stay Sept 21-Oct 5.
I have done some reading, and inquiry on weather...but wanted any input, or advise if possible.
Much thanks,
Kerri

The temperatures are basically the same year-round, from about 45F at night to 65F during the day, give or take five degrees. If it rains, it's usually of short duration and pretty localized.

Quito is close to the equator (I had to put it :) ), so it's pretty much all-year long the same, with some variations in precipitations.

Have a look here:
Average weather

By the way speaking of weather while being there is pretty odd for local people - as it doesn't change much, it feels like you really have nothing to say.

in quito we say there are four seasons in one day, spring in the morning, summer in the afternoon, spring after that and winter at night. though i would probably switch spring and fall around.

otavalo is like autumn all the time.

Much appreciated on the replies.
Now I may sound like dimwit asking this, but I am willing to take the risk.
I have sent out some inquiries, and not heard back..I suppose I could just google like the rest of the world, but that would be too simple..
I have not been privy to anything of this nature, but some vague sources have spoken of natural disaster, as in volcanic activity in our around Ecuador.
Can any person provide any specifics if the sources are accurate?
Best,

What people don't say about the weather is the fact that the temperature outside is the temperature inside... a large percentage of the buildings are not heated.

However if you stay in an old colonial building with thick walls you sont really need heating as it is warmer inside at night than outside.
