Recommendation for a GUide in Palenque/Chiapas JungleHi. I will be taking my parents and wife to Paleqnue in late october, to see the ruins and also to visit Yaxchillan and Bonampak. My wife and I speak Spanish fluently but my parents don't. This is a trip I myself did years ago as a backpacker. Due to my parents' age, I think we are going to do this a little more comfortably.
What I am looking for is an english-speaking guide (s/he doesn't have to be Shakespeare, just able to get the point across) who is well-informed on archaeaology to accompany us to Paleqnue one day and to Bonampak and Yaxchillan the next. I know there are bus/van tours to the latter two sites, but when I did them years ago, they supplied transportation only and an obligatory stop at some restaurant for an hour while they waited for us to cave in and buy something. I will have my own car, so I could bring the guide with me or if said person has transportation, that's fine too. We would have no problem going with other people, the important thing is that the guide give us some context about what we are seeing and that we are not obliged to stop in locales where the guide obviously has a quid pro quo with the owner.
Any recommendations from someone who has been recently, a contact name or a company?
