Trekking partners Annapurna Sanctuary October
Hey there!I'll be arriving in Kathmandu Oct 3rd and intend to do the Annapurna Sanctuary trek from Pokhara a couple of days later; possibly around October 6th or 7th. I'm thinking of spending a day or two getting to Pokhara from KTM to see whats on offer on the way.
Once the trek is over I'll be heading towards Lumbini and Chitwan. I've heard great things about Bhaktapur too so fingers crossed I'l l have time to visit there too. I've four weeks in Nepal in total before flying into India for the following six weeks.
If anyone would like to join me in sharing any of the above; in particular the trek, give me a shout and we can chat some more about it.
Talk soon :)
David

HiThere are a few interesting places between KTM and Pokhara worth visiting including Bandipur, Manakamana and Gorkha.
You will have seen suggestions to post in trekinfo.com and trekkingpartners.com but if no luck with these, there will be plenty of opportunity to meet with people in KTM, Pokhara and on the trail itself because it is high season then.
Good luck.

Good advice above. If you don't meet up with a suitable person before your trek, just start the trek anyway - ABC in early Oct will have lots of trekkers, including many who are not in organised groups, so you should easily be able to meet other trekkers "on the road". I did when doing AC and ABC in Oct 2005, and at that time the Maoist insurgency kept the overall numbers well down. I had a great time, and am still in regular contact with one of the guys.
Trekking independently when it is sufficiently busy is a great way to meet people. The big organised groups tend to be very socially self contained, but there should be lots of independent trekkers.

Hi David! My name is Lindsay. I sent you a message via trekkingpartners. Not sure if you received it or not or if any reply went to my spam mail. But I'm also looking for some people to go trekking with in October. I'm traveling solo, arriving Oct. 6th mid afternoon and am ready to go as early as the 7th. I'm leaving Kathmandu on the 21st (am) so unfortunately, I don't have much time to dillydally once I'm there. I have some contacts via The North Face distributors out there who said could organize me with a guide but to be honest, more fun to do with others and a lot of the groups I have contacted are booked up :( About me - I'm 34, female, American but living in Switzerland almost 8 years, working as a sales manager for two big action sports brands. I'm active and hike, climb, snowboard and the lot and so I'm looking forward to a challenge and awesome experience. Let me know if you're interested or if you've already sorted yourself out. Thanks!
