Budget 6 months in SA

Budget 6 months in SA

Hi!

I am looking to find out the average budget to travel through South America for 6 months. I'm looking to stay in low budget hotels or hostels but with semi private rooms (for 2 people) or can rent apartments in some cities if we stay for a few weeks.

I have in mind about $50 a day not including flights. Is this possible?

Agree with Snatch. As a rule of thumb, the more developped the country, the more expensive - and there is quite a difference between, say, Chile and Bolivia.

We managed a 20US$/day/person average between Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. But that was 10 years ago.
