Buses from Bulawayo to Maun?

Hi all,

My wife and I (both UK nationals) will be travelling this week from Livingstone over the Zimbabwe border to Vic Falls and then on to Bulawayo.

After a week in Bulawayo, we would then like to travel over to Botswana, head to Maun and visit the Okavango Delta.

My question is - is it possible (and if so, is it straightforward) to travel by bus from Bulawayo to Maun?

I expect that there is no direct service, but I was hoping there might be a coach that would take us either to the Botswana border, or ideally over to Francistown where we could catch a connecting service.

Any recent information greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Simondo.

check out intercape.co.za, they're a south african bus company that operate in zambia and zimbabwe as well as other places, very nice buses too. not sure about the route you intend but fire an email to this company and they'll surely help out.

You will need to get a bus from Bulawayo to Francistown and then get buses from Francistown to Maun. Its a long way !!!Intercape does not do that route.Or bus from Bulawayo to Vic Falls and then cross over to Kasane and bus it to Maun or fly Kasane to Maun.AirBots has very reasonable rates. Its costs about USD80 to fly between the two places. You will not get a direct bus either way it has to be two or three buses.

The delta is beautiful and is worth the long journey though.
Goodluck.
