Hi-
My wife and I are headed to Croatia soon. We're flying into Dubrovnik and out of Split about one week later. Our plan is to spend 1-2 days in each of those cities exploring - but want to spend the in-between days winding our way along the coast / islands from Dubrovnik to Split. We've gone thru the LP (and other books) and haven't found anything we HAVE to do - so we're flexible on our way up. I've noticed that from some islands, ferries only return to Dubrovnik and don't go north to the next island / Split (which when coupled with "seasonal routes" makes planning difficult).
So I'm wondering if anyone has a suggested path (coast or island) for how to spend a few relaxing days migrating north to Split.
thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info - after studying the map / LP some more, I'm thinking the below. Any thoughts / concerns:2 Days in Dubrovnik
1 Day Mjlet
1 Day Korcula
1 Day Hvar
2 Days Split
Obviously that assumes we'll find ferries between cities - but the LP shows the routes exist. I suspect it's a question of seasonality now?
Thanks

Hi there,we are travelling in Croatia at the moment and have already modified our initial trip plan: stayed shorter in Dubrovnik (1.5 days instead of 3, partially due to the amount of cruise ships arriving there every day) and took a bus to Korcula from Dubrovnik earlier(Atlas bus from central bus station, 3h to Korcula incl. ferry crossing, some stunning landscapes on the way). Korcula town is beautiful and much more relaxed n Dubrovnik (also, much smaller and with lovely beaches).
We heard that getting from D to Mljet can be problematic due to the amount of people wanting to do it (we were told to start lining up for tickets at 6 am, which would have not been very practical with a 10 month old), but you can also book a day trip to Mljet from Korcula ( and everything seems to be much cheaper here).
Up to 30.09 there is a ferry leaving Korcula for Split every morning at 6 am.
