Cheap flight Paris- Madrid

Hi everyone. I want to book cheap flight Paris Orly to Madrid May 2013. Trying to stay clear of Edreams after reading reviews. Have tried Air Europa website but cant find anything cheap(apprx 465 euro) I have sent emails to the contact addrs but with no reply. Has anyone booked with Air Europa from Australia recently? I read the advice of going straight to the airline to get similar prices to what is listed on Edreams.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
try Easyjet http://www.easyjet.com/.
Starts at about 50 €.

Another alternative - Vueling airline.

Also sites such as flycheapo, whichbudget and skyscanner may assist.

use skyscanner.net to compare. But my bet is on Vueling airlines.

well, if you can't find a price you like on their booking engine they're not going to give you a better price when you email them.

OP - *Happyadventures....
You will get sarcastic comments from time to time, only from a very small minority though.
Take it on the nose, move on - and try a few budget airlines. You'll find something.
Incidentally, there are different fares in May.
Perhaps narrow your date(s) down a bit and you may get more suggestions.
Good luck with everything.

I'd say that Vueling and Easyjet will probably be your best bets but, as MTL, said in #4, you can use Skyscanner (or Kayak or any other similar web) to compare and to see what's the cheapest option on your travel dates. Once you know the cheapest airline, book directly in their web. Be aware Vueling and Easyjet are low cost airlines so verify their Terms and Conditions regarding luggage to know if you'll have to pay extra for yours in order to know what will be the overall cost flying with them (and to see if non-low cost airlines -Iberia, Air France, Air Europa- could be cheaper overall).

Avoid Beauvais airport, it's more than 80 kms away from downtown Paris.

Not necessarily.
On certain dates, Skyscanner is not showing all budget flights on this route.

Not good overall advice.
If OP is coming from the North of France to Paris, then Beauvais could be worth a shout.

It'a all good and well to plan ahead. But Easyjet is only showing flights available on that route through March 2013 (at about 50 euro, as suggested above). Vueling also won't let you book yet for May. That's probably why they don't show on Skyscanner at this time.
You've got plenty of time, so it looks like you should wait a couple months, then try again.

Anillos, does the version of Kayak you use show "bargain" airlines? I tend to use the North American version (Kayak.com) and it does not.

Another thing whilst Veuling might be considered they act like a scheduled airline, no charge checked in baggage and assigned seats.

That's not my experience. It's true the OP can't find right now May's fares of some airlines, e.g. Easyjet, for that route but that's because they aren't available yet (neither in the web of Easyjet).

If OP is coming from the North of France to Paris, then Beauvais could be worth a shout.

The OP wanted to depart from Orly so it's unlikely s/he's coming from the North of France (s/he would have preferred Charles de Gaulle). Charles de Gaulle is already a not so convinient option for him/her but could be considered if there are (relevant) savings. Beauvais would be an option to avoid if the OP departure point is Paris as the original post said.
BTW, if your guess is true and the OP is coming from the North of France to Paris only to take his/her flight to Madrid, it would be a good idea to know his/her departure point because, Paris, perhaps, isn't the best departure point for him/her.

Anillos, does the version of Kayak you use show "bargain" airlines?

The Spanish version of Kayak shows the fares of Ryanair, Easyjet, Wizzair... Not sure if they include absolutely all the bargain airlines but they definitely include all the airlines (including the bargain ones) flying from Paris to Madrid.

Why do you assume that? Generally, the cheaper fares are from CDG and Beauvais - not so much Orly.

Thanks for all the ideas. Ill wait a couple of months before booking and will spend my time looking on Kayak.com etc. Ill be flying into CDG at 6.30am from Oz and hope to get to Madrid by early afternoon. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions-greatly appreciated.
Cheers Chris

So look for flights from CDG. I just had a look and Easyjet flies from CDG to Madrid. The cheapest flights cost around 40€ but leave at 6:40 am, but for less than 70€ you can leave around 10:00 and you'll be in Madrid before 12:30.

OP....

Why do you specifically want a flight out of Orly, when you're arriving at CDG?
