Boat transport Mediterranean to India (Mumbai/Goa)
This isn't really about the Middle East, but I guess more about avoiding it. I am looking at doing a bike and/or caravan trip, and would like to get from the Mediterranean to India via boat.Outside of winging it, does anyone have any suggestions??
If I were to wing it, what's the best port to go to in the Med to better my chances?

Hey there, I'm currently backpacking in Oman.I wanted to do something similar to you, but unfortunately, that route is almost impossible. You would have to pass the Red Sea and eventually, the Gulf of Aden near Yemen and Somalia. This area has some of the highest pirate activity in the world, so it's highly not recommended for tourists.
You can try and contact cargo ships to try and join, but this route is pretty dangerous.
