Cheese to China

I,ve been to China loads of times and this time want to take a few packs of English Cheddar cheese in my " "checked in "suitcase ( cheese is about 6 times the UK price in China.)
Has anybody tried this,if so did you have any issues on arrival ?
Thanks.
ps,I,m staying in China for 9 months.

I did this often, no problem.
Don’t know if it was really necessary, I double sealed it thinking that it would avoid the attention of the airport sniffing dogs.

I do it always :)

But don't pack too much, or it will show during the X-Ray check. Something like one to two kilos has never been a problem to me.

Cheese, Scottish black pudding, bacon, smoked haddock, bottles of nice wine - I've brought it all back from the UK and Australia more than 12 times, never any problems. Nothing like a really good cheddar!

bring cheese every time
i get it nice and cold, wrap it in foil before i go, keep it near the window of the plane (colder area)
Sometimes security wants you to unwrap the giant foil blocks but there is nothing customs-related wrong with bringing it

I carried about 5kg of cheese with my carry on luggage from Hong Kong into China a few days ago... whilst they did pull my bag aside and ask what it was, I just said going to the Mainland and it is my cheese. They let me through no issues! But there is no real customs check on the Chinese side where I arrive.

You donot need to take any cheese to China ,I think .just take money ,the food in shanghai and beijing is expensive but much cheaper in other parts of china especially my hometown xi an ,welcome!

We took some to a friend in China decades ago. The customs people were most amused but no problem then.
