South Africa Itinery help
Hi,I will be going to SA with my fiancee in Dec 2012. I will be there for about 14 days and wish to cover the below places. Would appreciate any help on the approx. costs for the travel within SA and am i trying to pack in too much in too little time? Also, please suggest the best way for internal travel. I would ideally like to rent a car and drive through the Garden route
Day 1 - Cape Town (visit Victoria & Alfred waterfront & boat ride to Robben Island)
Day 2 - Table Mountain (Hiking)
Day 3 - Drive to Franschhoek winelands (night stay)
Day 4 - travel to Knysna via garden route (night stay)
Day 5 - Knysna to POrt Elizabeth
Day 6- PE to Durban (please suggest mode of transport)
Day 6 - 9- Durban for adventure sports, beaches
Day 10- Durban to Kruger National Park (please suggest mode of transport)
Also should we do Jo'berg since we're already doing CT & Durban.
2 nights stay in Kruger
We also wish to do Victoria Falls- i believe there are flights from Jo'berg to Victoria Falls.
Would appreciate any help on the above approx. costs, if i am covering enough places or any alternate itinery which will allow me to soak in the beautiful beaches, sports & rich wildlife of SA are welcome.
Thanks.

Suggest you cut out Durban. Fly from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg take a package to Victoria Falls and back (2 or 3 days) and then fly to Mpumalanga airport at Nelspruit, hire a car and do a self-drive safari in Kruger for the rest of your time here. Obviously proper planning so as not to waste any time between flights would be required. So too would be pre-booking accommodation in the Kruger Park. You could, of course, hire a car in Johannesburg and drive to the Kruger Park - it is less than a 5-hour drive.

Thanks RudiK.I ve heard Durban has the best beaches and night life in SA. If i cut out Durban wouldnt i also be cutting out on my adventure sports activities? We are really keen on sky diving and bungee jump.

Basically I hink you are trying to do too much in too short a time. You have four destinations on your itinerary viz, Garden Route, Durban, Kruger Park and Vic Falls. I would choose to drop one of them.I cannot advise you on Durban's night life.
For sky-diving options (google "skydiving in South Africa:).
The worlds highest / longest / tallest (I don't know which word to use) bunjee jump is on the Garden Route at the Bloukrans River bridge (see: http://www.cbn.co.za/pressoffice/villa_formosa/fullstory/2035.htm). Another one you might consider is on the Victoria Falls Bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Do a shark cage dive at Gansbaai (near Hermanus) or in False Bay at Cape Town.
Abseil down Table Mountain.
Paraglide off Signal Hill to Camps Bay (Google "paragliding Cape Town")
Do a canopy tour on the Garden Route (see: http://www.stormsriver.com/)
Go on a Widerness Trail in the Kruger Park (see: http://www.sanparks.org/parks/kruger/tourism/activities/wilderness/default.php)
Go white-water rafting at Victoria Falls (googe: "White water rafting Victoria Falls")
Now, in what other adventure activities do you want to participate?
