My first post here .. go nice!
I’m going away next week for 10 nights to Northern Croatia. I am used to travelling around as I went backpacking for a year and been on several little trips around Europe since. My problem is I am travelling with 2 friends who don’t have much experience in travelling and we are really looking to make the most of our 10 nights with beaches by day and nice bars/pubs/clubs by the night. I often like to take my annual holiday in destinations with backpackers and like-minded people.
We are going to Pula, Pag, Rijeka and Zagreb. We are then travelling back to London by train, using the overnight service from Munich.
What I’d like help with is deciding on the destinations in between Pag. We have already pre booked 4 nights already in an apartment in Novajla to use as our base for the beach parties on Zcre beach.
So, firstly, do you recommend Pula as a decent place for a couple of days? When I say "decent" I mean places to drink and party in the evening and nice spots the hang about in the day. We are flying into Pula with Ryanair so it made sense to stay for a night or two before we head to Pag. I am slightly worried Pula will be a little quiet and relaxed so in this case I was thinking to go straight to Rijeka from the airport. Is this worthwile/feasible?
After Pag, we were thinking of heading back to Rijeka for a couple of nights and then spending 2 nights in Zagreb.
Any help appreciated

2It also depends when you are going to be in Pula. At the end of this month outlook festival and dimensions are held there and it will be packed full of young people partying for about 2 weeks straight

4The Amfiteatar hotel is the best hotel in Pula and will suit your budget. It is small (maybe 20 rooms) so could be full this time of year. Another option is the Omir hotel, a dated 2star but ok for a couple of nights. Even if you can't get a room at the Amfiteatar, go to the restaurant there, it is very good and won't empty your pocket.
