Lodging in Agua Calientes, Peru

My mother and I are traveling to Peru and have tickets to visit Machu Picchu in October through SAS Travel.

We are staying for two nights in Agua Calientes and were thinking of upgrading our lodging. We don't need luxury accommodations (ie: Sanctuary Lodge), but are looking for a reasonable improvement over the basics.

Any recommedations or suggestions? Thanks!!

We stayed at Hotel Imperio Machcu Pichu. Nice hotel, clean, good location, helpful front desk. Located at the end of the soccer field and turn right, first building on the right. Price is $80 US double. Breakfast NOT included. Ask for a room in the back which should be quieter than a room on the street. A bit upscale for Thorntreers, but it suited our needs quite well. Price was non negotiable, and we tried.

Imperio Machu Picchu

Bob

That is easy! Check out the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. It is about a quater mile from Agua Calientes right off the railroad tracks. Nice bungaloes and beautiful gardens, great food.

Yep Machu Picchu Pueblo is by far the best hotel overthere (better than the Sanctuary Lodge) however you also have cheaper options!! - Checkout Sumaq Machu Picchu, Hotel El Mapi, Hatuchay Tower. They are all of a good standard.
