Hi yofletch,

Our flight in was delayed a few hours so we coudn't do the car rental as drop off was at 6pm and we needed to get some sleep first! We ended up just taking a quick bus ride to Adare which was very nice and then back in Limerick, went to Dolans for a quick pint and a bit of live Irish music. Then for a nice meal we found a great restaurant called Cornstore which was one of the few still opened that late, but it was a very good choice. That was it for our shorter than expected layover. Beautiful country! Thanks for all the tips and hope to check out more places on future layovers there!

there is an express bus from Henry st (Limerick)

1st bus departs 07:50.....last bus from Cork-Limerick
departs 19:00 hours
day-return fare, on the day E 22.00
In Cork take the train to Cobh (say cove) more info on Youtube / "COBH BUDGET SPECIAL"
and visit the Cobh Heritage centre next door to
