In and out of Greece
My husband and I are plaNning to visit Greece next year as part of a trip that will also include Turkey, Croatia and Italy. However I heard the other day that it's become difficult to get into Greece by ferry, train or bus ... I'm wondering if there's any truth to this and if there are any tips we should hear before planning our trip? All information will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks :)

Of course no one can predict the future, but I guess you may get some pointers if you have some idea of an itinerary, when, for how long and which areas you want to see. And maybe on what sequence.Advise depends on specifics and which locations you have in mind exactly. For example in summer season there are frequent ferries from particular spots of Turkish coast to particular Greek islands but this may or may not help depending on where you plan to travel exactly before Greece, where in Greece you want to go and when.

Without an itinerary, it's not easy to say what will affect you.General guidelines for planning:
ferries between south Italy (Bari, Brindisi) and Greece (Ionian islands, Patras) and ferries between Turkey and Dodecanese islands should be no problem.
International trains to/from Greece not an option.
International buses .. do you want to take this on? Probably to Turkey via northern route.

Echoing the others on the Greece Turkey connections, all international train routes have been cut. However, Turkish companies maintain frequent bus routes from Istanbul. Try http://www.ulusoy.com.tr/ http://www.varan.com.tr/ http://www.kamilkoc.com.tr/ or http://www.metroturizm.com.tr/index.htmSeveral of the Greek islands, such as Chios and Lesbos, still have daily ferry connections to Turkey.
