Van Accomodation after Earthquake.

Hi all, anyone got any idea how things are in Van these days. Are accomodation options listed in the LP still available, or have most been destroyed since last year? If so, anybody have some decent current recommendations for Van?

And in general, how are the people dealing with things after the earthquake? Have many who left moved back into the city?

Have you already been to Van? Would like to hear your impressions as I'm debating whether or not to go as it is a bit out of the way from where I'll be.

Cheers.

Yeah I've been there. Well, its a nice city and interesting to see how things arwe there now after the earthquake. Akdamar Island is great and is well worth it. However, I wouldn't sacrifice your trip to more scenic places just to come here, but is worth while if passing between Diyabakir/Mardin, etc and Kars.

Thanks, Almondy. I'm leaning towards giving it a miss and saving Van and the SE for another trip and alot the extra days to the Black Sea and Antalya.
