Female travelling in Thailand in October/November this year
Hiii. So I (like probably hundreds/thousands of other people) have given up hope of finding a friend who has the money and wants to go at the same time as me, so am going to brave Thailand (and probably other parts of SE Asia) alone!I'm considering doing one of the STA tours, possibly a volunteer course, but I'm undecided as yet.
Is anybody else heading out there in autumn? Want to meet up?
All tips are v much appreciated!

Hi ridingsolo - I too will traveling alone for first time in Thailand in November. :)I feel so overwhelmed with all the information and things to do in this amazing country, but I have finally came up with a sketch of my itinerary or at least with the places I would like to go - I am not a party animal person so I will skip the crazy full moon party - but what I will do and this is really highly recommended is to take the trip north up to Chiang Mai and enjoy the Loy Kratong/Yi Peng festival - it features on the LP guides and everywhere on the internet - I will also do a cooking class and elephant trekking.
I haven't book any hotel yet or anything only my R/T flight ticket - which is making me a little nervous - I am the kind of woman who likes to plan everything. but will see...travel is an adventure!!!!
I will spend only 3 weeks between BKK, Chiang Mai, Kho Phi Phi, Phuket and a few days in Bali, Indonesia.
Drop me a line if you would like to meet up.
Have a great trip!!

How long are you traveling for?
When do you arrive?

Hi!!I will be travelling through Thailand and the rest of SE Asia too at about the same time. Hopefully flying into Bangkok at the beginning of October. I cannot offer you any good advice as I am also a first time solo traveller, but i think its best if us loners stick together :) I'd be happy to meet up for a cold beer and a few laughs if you're around! If not, enjoy your trip and be safe!

Hi ladiesI am planning to visit one of the main 'must do' attractions in Bangkok on Nov. 23rd - The Grand Palace.
We can meet there - of course - for safety reasons I don't want to post any more details here -
Any suggestions are more than welcome - otherwise Enjoy your trip!!! :)

Hi guysReally glad I ran into this post, I plan on travelling in Thailand starting November 12th for 3 weeks to beginning of December.
I too was worried that I may not meet like minded people down there, was going to go to Khao San road after arriving, checking out the atmosphere and hopefully hooking up with fellow travellers.
I planned on going to Chiang Mai first on the overnight train and letting the wind take me where it blows.
I would love to meet up with you guys if you're also looking for travelling buddies as well so let me know if you all want to get together.
I'm 27, male from Canada

hey everyone i am ALSO going to be in thailand in october. going to do the full moon party thing in late september with a friend but she will go home start of october and then i will be left in thailand alone. hoping to do more sightseeing then, and a diving course. if people would like to meet up please let me know as im a bit scared of being left all alone :) especially with it being low season. i know people say it will still be busy but im scarred it wont be as easy to meet people in low season!!!!11

hi everybody, guess i have also joined the bandwagon :-)....after a lot of planning, mods to planning etc my buddies have dropped out and i am on my own in Land Of Smiles. I am arriving on bangkok on 19 nov and would depart on 30 nov. My prima facie reason is to get my scuba owd certifcation and given the season ...it seems khao lak is the place to be due to proximity to Similan isles. My iternary as of now is
19 Nov ..arrive bangkok.....proceed to pattaya same day for a night out (this is flexible)
20 Nov ...depart pattaya ....arrive bangkok....check in KSR area....local sightseeing, minor shopping etc.
21 Nov....bangkok - kanchanburi for visiting bridge on the river kwai. same night bangkok to khao lak by AC bus.
22 Nov - 26 Nov Scuba diving at khao lak (this is the best time for similans and phi phi and richelieu rock...guaranteed whale shark sightings :-) )
26 Nov ..depart Khao Lak for Surat thani. Journey by AC bus. Duration 3 - 4 hrs.
26 Nov ....post lunch ferry from Surat Thani to Koh Phangan. Arrive Koh Phangan in evening..check in to a dorm at haad rin...meet n greet other travellers..drink n enjoy....build up to full moon party on 28 Nov.
27 Nov...rent a bike....travel the island..and if time permits hop on to a ferry and check out Koh samui. return back to koh phangan in evening to again enjoy the festivities
28 Nov..full moon party.....safe n sensible fun and standing n dancing as the sun comes up :-)
29 Nov ..ferry to surat thani...surat thani - bangkok by air asia (very budget flight)
29 Nov ...check in to a nice hotel at bangkok....dinner drinks etc.
30 Nov ..depart LOS.
So, this is what i have worked out so far and would be nice if any other solo traveller would join me for the whole deal or maybe somewhere in between.
Love n peace
