Cleartrip versus Makemytrip
I was recommended Cleartrip by a few people, but after finding no available trains, I searched using Makemytrip and found many availabilities. One trip I did book with Cleartrip, but it failed and was not processed - and now I have been refunded but it wasted time and effort. I highly recommend Makemytrip instead. I booked a 4 star hotel in Diu through Cleartrip while staying in Jaisalmer. On the morning of my departure I was advised by Cleartrip that due to a late group booking at my chosen hotel, I was re-booked at a 1 star place and will be refunded a total of $AUD10 (for a 6 day stay). As I had also booked two long bus trips and a hotel in Ahmedabad for the journey from Jaisalmer to Diu, I had no option but to proceed.My accommodation in Diu was diabolical, but as I was a solo traveller, Cleartrip had no reservations (pardon the pun) about ditching me in favour of a larger group.
Nowadays I use Trip Advisor exclusively.
