Sunday in Accra
HiI am coming to Ghana for business and will have a Sunday in Accra.
Does anyone know if things like the National Museum and the Centre for National Culture/Arts Centre will be open on a Sunday?
Also how much should a taxi from the airport cost to the Novotel hotel area?
Many thanks

Not sure whether the above two will be open ..You could do something cultural to get you out of your hotel lobby Ghana Nima Tours; a special Accra experience which is a great experience & very relaxed for a Sunday.
Charles can also meet you at the airport to get you a properly priced taxi; you should be able to get one for about 3-4GhC but I would imagine you'll find it hard bargaining down past 8GhC

The Centre for National Culture will definitely be open. Because its a Sunday, most people will be going to church in the morning so if you would like to see a wide selection, perhaps wait until the afternoon. On the other hand, if you would like a more hassle free shopping experience earlier in the day would be better because there will be less people around. I'm fairly certain the National Museum is closed but I do believe the Nkrumah Masoleum next to the Culture Centre is open on Sundays.I took a hotel from the airport to near the Novotel about two months ago and the lowest I could get any taxi driver down to was 15 GHC, even after pulling out my Twi and telling them that I knew they were overcharging me. Hopefully you can have better luck! I also arrived late at night so it might be slightly cheaper in the day or you'll be more comfortable to look around for other options.
Hope that helps!
