Its on the outskirts of Quito, simply catch a City bus up there or a taxi.2
Easier to get to from Quito. You can take a bus from Terminal La Ofelia (.15c), which is the last stop on the Metro line (.25c). So .40 cents total or a taxi will be around $20. Hiring a driver for a day would set you back around $100!Buses are targets for pickpockets but 99.9% of visitors have no problems as long as you don't keep valuables, phones, money etc in big baggy loose pockets or have your day pack on your back where someone could get in it without you noticing.
Be sure to visit the Museo de la Cultura Solar as well as the Mitad del Mundo complex and Museo Inti Ñan. Also the Reserva Pululahua.
