Reccomended travel agent in Kuching

During our stay in Kuching we want to visit Bako NP (day tour) and do a 3d/2n tour to a longhouse (preferable Batang Ai).
Does anyone has tips for a good/reliable travel agent in Kuching who offers such tours against a reasonable price?

I know Bako NP can be done on your own but we prefere doing it with a guide so we dont miss out on things because we dont have a trained eye like the guides (or step on pit vipers!)

Hi, if you really want to use a guide, the tours arranged by the Lime Tree hotel are fantastic, and very cheap, considering. Even if you aren't staying there, just go up to the front desk a day or two before and ask.

I'm sure the rangers in Bako do guided tours...though i haven't done so myself (there really isn't any need for a guide there).

That would cost you a hell of a lot less than bringing a guide from Kuching...

They do lucapal, you can just turn up at the ranger station in Bako and hire a guide, can't remember the prices off the top of my head, but I didn't know wether the OP wanted to organise everything in Kuching or head up there.

We're not travelling on a low budget and since we only have 2 weeks in Borneo sometimes we prefere to have things arranged already instead or searching for guides, transport etc by ourselves.

Do a search for Danny Voon and Escapade Borneo - there are quite a few posts on here

Using a guide gets you so much more from the experience and Bako is so amazing. You get to chat to a local too which is always interesting. We used a local agent in Kuching and they were great and seemed reasonably priced (we checked a couple of options) called CPH Travel on Padungan Rd. Have a great time.

I used to work for CPH travel (looooong time ago though) and yes they are brilliant. Their tours to Batang Ai and Skrang have very knowledgeable guides, great food and most importantly, great respect for the Iban who were hosting the guests. As it is a family-run business, I'm sure those ethics still exists. I still miss the Sarawak, it's a magic place. Enjoy!

@ Endorawon, I've tried to contact them but still havent received any email back. Do you have contact details for me? Since they dont have prices and programms on their site.

Yes I have.. Got some information but I'm a little bit suprised how expensive these tours are. Most tours I see are RM1200 pp, is this a normal price??

Worth asking if they have any other visitors going you can share with - main cost is bus and boat transfers

If you just go yourself it is a lot cheaper........get a bus to Batang Ai,hire a small boat,go to Longhouse and they will give you a bed.Iban guides will take you out trekking etc.,exploring the forest,or in canoes.

You need a bit of basic Malay for this option though....
