I will be traveling through Malaysia, Borneo, Cambodia & Sri Lanka this summer. I know that US dollars are an accepted currency in Cambodia but would it be of benefit to bring Dollars to Sri Lanka & Malaysia or is the local currency only used? Advice welcome.
Dollars are not used in Sri Lanka or Malaysia. Having said that they are easily changed in rupees and ringit so it wouldn't hurt to have some dollars atm's are quite widespread in Sri Lanka and everywhere in Malaysia both on the peninsular and Borneo.
