ROUTE ADVICE
Hi;I will go to South Africa from 17 July to 08- August this year.
The 12th first days, I will go with a couple of friends from Johanesburg to Kruger-Swaziland-Sta.Lucia- and ended in Durban.
In Durban our friends return back to Johanesburg, and my wife and me have 12 days more to spend in South Africa.
My question is.
1º Rent a car visit Kwazulu-Natal , Natal-Midlands and Lesotho, and then on route return with the car to Johanesburg
2º Take a flight from Durban to Port Elizabeht rent a car and go to the Garden Route and drive to Cape Town where I take a flight to return to Johanesburg.
In early August the weather in the Garden Route may be not so good, and maybe is a better option to stay in Kwazulu-Natal due to the weather.
Any recommendations would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance
Tony

I don't think the Garden Route is that bad for the weather in early August it's the Cape that gets the rains, despite the rain Cape Town is a fantastic city not to be missed.2
Agree with #1......the bad weather is likely to be near to CT...the Garden Route may well be sunny at that time. Both options have their positives...depends on what you like doing really!
On option 2 you have pretty small towns, wine, sharks and whales and a great city at the end (by far the nicest in SA).
Option 1 you have wild beaches, more interesting cultural stuff, trekking if you like that and more wildlife opportunities than the Western Cape....but your finishing city is nowhere near as nice...

Thanks for the advice;I am thinking to do option 2,
I am into cultural stuff, wild beaches and wildlife.
Can you give me a route starting in Durban and finish in Johanesburg for 12 days ( I am not interesting to visit Johanesburg ).
Thanks in advance
Tony
