3 Day Hike in Yakushima

Hi!

I will be visiting Yakushima in July for the first time. I am travelling alone, I am an averagely good hiker, and I speak conversational Japanese.

I am using the Yakumonkey guide, which is great, but I still have some questions about my intinerary.

I am planning to start in Anbo and bus up to Yakisugiland in the morning, do the longer 150 minute hike through there, and hike to the Yodogawa hut for the night. From there, wake up early and head through the Hana-no-ego marsh and summit Miyanoura dake, and back down to the Shin Takatsuka hut for the night. The next morning, pass Jomonsugi and down to Shiratani Unsuikyo and then bus back to Miyanoura town.

Is this a feasable plan for a 3 day trek?

Any other advice or stories about Yakushima is warmly welcomed!

Im so excited to get there!

Yes, sounds absolutely fine. The only problem is how are you going to get from Yakusugiland to the Yodogawa trail entrance. It's a very long way and it would be very unusual to hike it. You could time it so that you catch the last bus up from Yakusugiland but check the bus times carefully.
