Help with Itinerary 3 weeks Bolivia and Peru

Hi there,

We are flying into La Paz and out of Lima three weeks later.

At this moment, we have the Inca Trail book with 5 days until our flight. So in other words, we have two weeks to get to Cusco! And day 14 is when would have to be there.

Would love suggestions on whether this is achievable as we want to get the most out of it!

Arrive La Paz
Day 2 - tours and acclimatise
Day 3 - World most dangerous road
Day 4 -7 Salt Flats (can this be done in 3 days?) and back to la paz
Day 8 - Rurrenabaque for 3 days and back to La Paz
12, 13,We would like to white water rafting and looking at stopping off in Arequipa, but not sure if have time! Maybe better off to go striaght to cusco and try rafting from there?

Many thanks for any help and getting as much out of this as possible!

You will be very rushed trying to fit in both countries in 3 weeks! But if you really must do it, better to do Peru first than Bolivia so you can acclimatise to the altitude.

1) One day to acclimatise is optimistic and you do it in wrong order. Check Altitudes:
La Paz 4000 meter
Death Road 2000
Salt Falt 5000
Rurre 200m
Arequipa 2500
Cusco 3000.

2) The plan does not contain any spare => If you get sick or roads are blocked then you will have delays....

3) If you are willing to travel 24 hours to make a 2 hour tour then you can do everything, but I dont think this is worth the effort.

Many thanks for any help and getting as much out of this as possible!
I recommend:
Skip Rafting (You can do it everywhere in the world);
Skip Arequipa (you have not time to go to colca canyon);
Skip Salt Flat or Rurre if you have not time for a 3d/2n tour. (you spend a full day to go there....)
If you pack too much into the holiday, then you will have looked at each place, but you had no time to enjoy it.

I agree, skip Arequipa and river-rafting to put some time in there for rest, traveling at high altitudes can definitely wear you out. You also might substitute a day in Copacabana, Isla del Sol, one of the floating islands in Lake Titicaca. You also might want one day in Lima, it's a pretty city. You could check out the pyramid within the city called Huaca Pucllana as well as the historical center. Miraflores is a good place to enjoy night life as well.

you have things in wrong order
death road should be last on the list
very hard to enjoy all the other sites if you are dead or at least seriously injured
