tea picking in Srimangal - which months?

I would like to take pictures of women picking tea in Srimangal so want to avoid going during the rest season. When exactly is the tea picking season? I'm thinking of November, not sure if it is a good time for this.

Thanks very much

Thank you both for your reply.

@russelalam,

I would like to go to Bangladesh in Nov because it is beginning of dry season and good time for other places. I'm curious why June-Aug is better, more tea pickers? Nov is the tail end of tea picking season, will there still be pickers to photograph? Is 2nd week of Nov still ok? I guess 1st half of Nov is better than 2nd half.

Hi,

June July, august is perfect time for tea picking photograph.Though this is monsoon but do not rain continuously except some exceptional. In monsoon the nature is really live and green everywhere. You can travel last of August or first of September. You can also plan for some other part of Bangladesh.
Jaflong is the place where you will see thousands of people collecting stone from the river bed and both male and female worker are working there. They are also working with the crusher machine.

If you want to see the natural beauty and tribal lifestyle (Mru, Marma, Bowm, Khumi, Tripura etc) please go Bandarban ( An expert guide is highly recommended) and Rangamati- the beautiful lake with tribal people living on different island.

Northern part of Bangladesh is real rural life and firming area with the best archaeological site in Bangladesh. 12 years Paharpur Buddhist monastery (world heritage)- the single largest Buddhist monastery in the world, The best terracotta Hindu temple, Kantanagar or Kantagee temple which is 250 years old and still using by locals. Puthia is situated at Rajshahi. Puthia is called the temple town where you can some temple and landloard place.At Rajshahi Padma(Ganges) river bank is the place to meet the locals and enjoy beautiful sunset.

Your next destination should be Khulna. Sundarban -the mangrove forest and home of swampy tiger. Sundarban is the world heritage declared by UNESCO. You should not miss the 60 tower (Shat Gombuz) mosque at Bagerhat which is 600 years old. This mosque is also the world heritage.

Only one thing you should not miss in Bangladesh. The steamer trip from Dhaka to Khulna or Khulna to Dhaka. The steamer is known as rocket steamer. This is a paddle system steamer which is old fashion cruise steamer. Yiu can see the riverine beauty of Bangladesh by doing the trip which is 24/28 hours depending on where will you get off.

You can also plan for some more places in Bangladesh. Chittagong, Cox'sbazar etc.

Please plan for 16/20 days to do the tour as per above plan.

If you need anything else. please feel free to contact.
Thanks,
Shams

Helpful information, thank you! Do you have any recommendations for lodging in Srimangal? I am visiting in July but the eco resort is booked. Through my research it seems that staying at a tea estate would be the best option but I am unsure of how to contact them in advance. Any help would be appreciated!
