6 weeks in Sulawesi and Java
Hi I am planning to do a trip to Sulawesi and Java at some point next year. I think that 6 weeks will be a realistic amount of time for a visit and was wondering if anybody had any advice. Is it possible to get a two month visa beforehand or will I have to extend the 30 day on arrival visa once I get there?...I am interested in visiting the Tana Toraja region, Lake Poso, The Morowali Reserve and The Banggai Islands over a four week period and then spending the other two weeks in Java visiting friends with perhaps a trip for a few days to Krakatau and The Badui Tribe.
Is this a realistic time frame or will I be able to fit more of Sulawesi in? I am also interested in visiting Lore Lindu National Park but I'm not sure if I'll have enough time considering the speed - or lack thereof - of public transport in Indonesia.
Any advice suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Lee

Makassar for sure. But there's the issue, remoter places can be askew on the rules.4
Hi Irugby,It is much better to get a 60 day visa in advance in your own country or in one of the countries close to Indonesia,
Please do not get the VOA because you will need to try to adjust your holiday to be close to an immigration office and not all offices extend quickly - sometimes it can take days upon days and with only 6 weeks you do NOT need to be wasting time.
Sending you a private message as well.

Hi Pamela, I'm in Taiwan and plan to visit The Philippines before I arrive in Jakarta. Is it better to apply for one in Taipei before I go to The Philippines or when I'm in Manila? I'll probably be in The Philippines for 2 months too...P.S. Thanks for the long message I'll reply in due course :)
