Hi

I'm from India and want to plan a 10 day holiday to Indonesia( to include Bali), iv never travelled to Indonesia before and have absolutely no idea as to where to go and what all to include in my itinerary.

I would be travelling alone, as a bagpacker u can say and im looking for some tips from the experienced travellers. What i'm looking for is

1. places to stay as a Bagpacker.
2. places to see and explore.
3. places where i could possibly meet other bagpackers.
4. water sports/ adventure sports.
5. good party spots.

I'm planning my trip in the month of August, pl advice

As a bagpacker, you can try renting rooms at motels and hotels that offers comfortable enough space for lowest rates. I recommend places in Seminyak for your accommodation in Bali while hike and scuba dive around Ubud and Kuta also do some surfing in these beaches.

Namaste Arvind

Plenty of good places in Java and Bali - I suggest you look at Java wikitravel and Bali wikitravel. Trains are good in Java. Plenty of backpacker places in Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Bali.

If it's not too far from Bali for you, check out Lake Toba in North Sumatra.

  • It's cheap

  • Good people to meet & party with

  • Beautiful spot!

  • Close to other interesting places, e.g. Bukit Lawang & Berestagi

Have Fun!

As a bagpacker, your first couple of nights in Bali could be in Kuta. Kuta has low cost accommodation in small hotels called losmen,. It also has plenty of party places and of course, the surf beach. From there you can then explore the rest of Bali. You may want to use Perama tours and transport to reach other parts of the island, such as Ubud, Lovina and elsewhere. 10 days is not a lot of time but you could squeeze in a trip over to Lombok or to the Gili Islands or, in the other direction, perhaps Mt Bromo on Java. Perama can organise this for you.
