place to stay in Hue and Hoi An
First off, thanks to everyone who has been helping me out with ideas for my trip.I'm pretty sure that I'm going to spend my extra time in Vietnam in Hue/Hoi An instead of Hanoi and Halong Bay. I've been reading reviews online and searching TT, but I thought that I would make a new post to see if anyone has a place that they suggest for Hue and Hoi An. I'm pretty flexible on price as I don't mind paying more if it's worth it. I'd like a place where I might meet some younger people, as opoosed to families and older tourists, as I'll be by myself. I'm fine with spending anything from $20-100.
Thanks again.

We returned from Vietnam 2 weeks ago and spent 2 weeks in Hoi An. Do a search on my user name and you will see the posting I did on Hoi An. It has a couple of suggestions for accommodation - one hotel has a swimming pool and you can choose from a selection of rooms starting at US$15.Enjoy your trip!

I always stay at the An Huy Hotel in Hoi An. It is around $30 per night for a room for 1 or 2 and is in a great location.6
I should have added that is you have saved some of your $100 maximums and feel like a splurge then La Residence Hotel in Hue is expensive but worth it. It is an Accor hotel and often has good bargains if you check it out and book in advance. It was the French Governor's residence and then a government hotel. The rebuild was finished in 2005 and it features restrained art decor design to reflect the original building around which the hotel was extended. One of the most elegant hotel dining rooms in SE Asia, in my opinion.
