Yellow fever vaccination at Cairo airport

I asked in two different terminals about this but no one there or in the pharmacy at the hotel knew anything about a clinic.
There was no info desk at which to ask.

Not quite sure of the question, but there is no clinic for vaccinations at Cairo Airport. Yellow fever vax are available at the Vacsera compound in Dokki.

I think what you might be wondering is "do i need it? " They used to talk about the yellow fever vaccination with regards to Cairo airport but in the 1/2 dozen times that i' have been in and out, nobody has EVER asked me for proof.

Both times I've flown into Cairo (May 2008 and October 2010), they were checking very carefully to make sure everybody had their yellow-fever certificate. Maybe that's changed recently, but I personally would not show up at Cairo airport without my certificate.

#4 - Agreed, I saw that last week they turned a foreign diplomat away (I think from New Zealand, not sure) because he arrived without a yellow fever cert from an affected country and would not agree to go into quarantine.

An American I met in 2009 in Ethiopia went on to Egypt. He showed up at Cairo airport without a yellow-fever certificate and was given the choice of spending six days in quarantine in a hospital or getting on the next plane home; he chose the quarantine.

Both my girlfriend and I showed up in Cairo on March 19th this year....not even a whisper of yellow fever when going thru immigration....and the last year we have both been in countries where yf exists..... We do have the certificates saying we've been immunized, but still, not even a mention......

I think it might only be travellers arriving directly from affected countries that they check.
