Ayurvedic massage course
I will be traveling to India over Nov 2012-March 2013. I am qualified in Swedish massage and want to get certified in Ayurvedic Massage whilst I am in India this time. I am also hoping to do a Panchakarma detox and learn a little about Ayurvedic nutrrition so if this could be incorparated into the course too that would be great!I will be traveling on a budget so want to find the best possible option to end up with a recognised certification in massage and also the best possible training. I hear Kerala is'nt the best place to train even though it is originated from there.. can anyone recomend a good place for what I am looking for?
Hope so!! Hannah :)

Hi Hannah, Mumbai... is the ideal... If you need anything... its nowhere but Mumbai... Keralite Massage, many options there VLCC, Tulip, BAMS are few Ayurvedic Massage options... I would suggest you also join the non-famous but traditional/original ayurveda techniques, many options here around Mumbai.... Regarding accomodation.. I always suggest getting a shared flat if you going 5-6months... considering your budget, Navi Mumbai is the ideal place to live... 45 mins to reach the South Mumbai, farthest..2
Hi Hannah ,I would suggest Kerala , as ayurveda started there some years ago :-) , There as many places that are good for that , but I will not mention them as adds are not permitted on the forum . I live in Kovalam during the winter so if You want I can introduce You to some schools of ayurveda ( and I would suggest also yoga ) and then You make your choice .

I visited India last year and took some courses with Kerala Ayurvedic Massage Center. They are exteremely good and knowledgable. You can check their website http://www.keralaayurvedicmassages.com/Our%20Courses.html4
I spent two month in India from March to May. My last course was in New Delhi at the Dr. Virmani's Ayurvedic Clinic. Dr. Virmani is a wonderful doctor, she teached and trained me with a lot professionalism. For Dr. Virmani teaching Ayurveda is a mission and this you can feel every minute you spend with her. This is her contact:
ayurvedicmedicare@gmail.com or
Tel.: +9193 112 38054
You won't regret spending time with Dr. Virmani.
Bye for now.

Hello,I have been to Dr virmanis Clinic, but it seems to me a Scam more then a ayurveda institute,Everyone has his or her experince but she was more into selling medicines and insisting on products to buy,she was critising the guy who helped me reach there, and in the end that was not at all a good experince,Beware you may get a good course or may not get,but definately you will be insisted to buy her products,Besides she is more busy with her family rather then concentration on course,Half of the time everyday i was waiting for my turn to get a lesson ,you will be disturbed more then studying ayurveda in 4 hours of class..It was like i am in a queue to get course,Thanks
