IS YOUR COMPUTER AFFECTED?

Has it been hacked? Is it being used by a third party?

The FBI has launched a campaign to ask people to check their computers simply by clicking on this link: http://www.dns-ok.us/. If it comes up green then you're OK. If it doesn't then as it says, you should take action.

I can understand why some people would be reluctant to open the link I gave in my first post. It is 100% legitimate. Had it led to malware I imagine that Lonely Planet would be down on me like a ton of bricks. You can see more information about it in the two followig links, if of course, you feel safe to open them!

If the second link opens in Spanish just change the language. English is for some odd reason, right at the top of the list.

If you go to second link which is an FBI site, a little way down you will see the link I gave in my OP. It says:

+You can also test to see if you are affected by visiting the following DNSChanger Check-Up sites below. If this Check-Up site indicates that you are affected by DNSChanger, then visit http://www.dcwg.org/cleanup.html for information on how to address this problem.

Apologies if I frightened anyone, I was just trying to be helpful.

I wonder how many US government computers will pass the test?

Government employees are notorious for using passwords that are too obvious, giving full access to hackers.

I have just reformatted this computer a week ago so it should be safe but would not use the site as I think it possible the US government might put their own Trojan onto my computer. It is common knowledge that the US government wants to control the internet, have access to all emails and so on.

"If it comes up green then you're OK."

This only tests for one particular type of intrusion. You're not necessarily OK overall just because you get a green light.

Maybe better to just to download decent protection against threats like Trojans, Worms, Dialers, Hijackers, Spyware and Keyloggers. Its readily available and free. Antispyware..
