Ptuj. Day trip or overnight stay?

It`s a very small town, a couple of hours is more than enough.If you travel by car, don`t forget to stop in Ptujska Gora!

It depends if you want to just see the town or travel out a bit into the countryside. The countryside is nice, especially if you have cycling plans, winery plans or a spa afternoon plans.If you just plan to do the city, an afternoon is adequate. I did stay there & the dinner & hotel were both exceptional for modest fees. And my perception is that the people were generally more "laid-back" and amicable than in Ljubljana too. (As is typical for quaint towns vs. bigger cities.)

Ptuj is a (white) wine center, with very nice countryside nearby. I always suggest spending an evening in wine country anywhere on the planet. :)4
In Ptuj if you decide to sleep the best choise is HOSTEL SONCE it is cheap accommodation but is like sleeping in palace so great this Hostel is.....it is also just 5 minutes to town centerwww.hostel-sonce.com
