Paradise beaches

Can anyone recommend good locations for 3 days over new year and really looking for a small secluded beach hotel in Malaysia to do not much but drink and swim in the sea. Not too keen on large hotels with golf courses though.
Can anyone suggest good hotels/locations?

Hi, I suggest you go to Kuantan in East Coast of Malaysia for a 3 day trip. Try the Swiss Garden Resort & Spa - 4 -star and room rates below US$90/day. Have a nice beach there and near to amenities.

Pulau Langkawi. Good food, beach-side hotels, nice beach, very relaxing.

#1 New Year will be monsoon season so east coast won't be a good choice.
Stick to the west coast, but it will be busy there over Xmas, but the crowds will be leaving after New Yr. Langkawi or Penang are the best options.

Monsoon will be everywhere even Penang, Langkawi will be affected. Kuantan or Trengganu further up at least have nice beaches and quieter not so noisy like Penang, Langkawi.

Most Islands in East Coast would be closed during Dec/Jan. However you can try Penang, Langkawi and even Pangkor. The beaches in these destinations are not as heavenly as those in the East Coast (ie Perhentian, Redang, Lang Tengah) but they are deffinately better then Port Dickson or Malacca.

Also, you may want to look at options in West Malaysia ie Sabah and Sarawak. There are many islands in Sabah especially that are not overly developed and have crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.

December is summer in Langkawi!! not effected by the monsoon, we do have rain sometimes but not like in the east coast of Malaysia. Many tourist will come to the west coast of Malaysia during this time,..Penang, Pangkor and Langkawi is the best choice during this time...
