I reckon if you walk down the road from your house it wouldn't cost too much............

Where are you starting from?

How long do you want to stay there?

What do you want to do?

How do you want to live?

This is an awesome question.

1+2 - Obviously consider all variables are the same for any place and not considering travel cost from home location.

Australia, for me.
and, if I'm pushed to pin point an area...

Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday's
or,
Byron Bay
or
Newcastle
or
Sydney

My family has property and business interests in all four..
I can pop into any of the four, and enjoy the comforts of home-sweet-home.
Cheap-as-chips, for me... :)

Dubai, Geneva, Monaco, Tokyo.
As long as I don't spend nowt while there.
Seriously.... Staying with my folks in various countries. Never costs me anything.

Taking your question literally it probably isn't India as you asked the cheapest country to travel to, not in. India can be expensive to get to.

If you really meant to ask what country is the cheapest to travel around in, then India is among the cheapest. But everybody else above is correct if you consider one's home country and the area they live in.

I thought it was a pretty simple question. Wish the trolls would go play with the traffic.

To answer the question (based on my experience) Cambodia and Vietnam are very cheap. In fact, most of SE Asia is pretty cheap.

How about an African country.. I'd of thought somewhere like Zimbabwe or Nigeria would be cheap. The costs of getting around could add up though.

Correct me if I'm wrong..
