Accomodation in December

Hi!

I am looking for accommodation for a couple in December 2012. We are looking for clean and preferably cheap accommodation within London. Looking to spend between £50 - £70 per night... I don't know if I am dreaming if hoping to find somewhere with that kind of price range or not! If I am dreaming feel free to tell me and what a more realistic price range would be as all help is gratefully received!

The more central the accommodation the better, but as I say open to any suggestions. Didn't know if a B and B would be a good option?

Thanks for your help!

Hi....

What's your thing?....
Hotel, hostel, family room, private B&B?
There's a lot of choice - and London is a big place.

I would have thought a pertinent question was when in December they are thinking of staying?

At that price, not easy. You could try here - a good central location but shared bathrooms: http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk/county

You might be able to get a deal from one of the chains - try http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/ - the cheapest of the chains.

We are up for anything really, just so long as it sleeps 2 people :)
We wont be flying into London until the 7th of December and will be there til 13/14th, so looking for accommodation around then.. There is the possibility of needing accommodation just after Christmas as well for a night or two.
I have family I need to see who are in England, but when we have free time we will most likely be in London.

You could check out the chain hotels - Premier Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Travelodge, Ibis etc- and if you get something in your range and requirements you should take it. Otherwise it would likely be hostels - Generator, YHA West End (off Oxford St), Russell Square regularly get recommended on TT.

The Putney Bridge Premier Inn (although hardly the heart of London but is just at the top end of New Kings Rd and right on the tube) would fit your price range (after a quick glance) so do check the chains.

Travelodge is a chain of cheaper hotels but often with decent locations and offers from time to time.

Premier Inn's can be quite reasonable as well - but if cheap is what you are after then it has to be hostels.

Question is are you looking for private rooms, or would you be happy with a dorm?

Hostels often have private rooms, so don't rule them out.
My first suggestion would be travelodges, but also look at http://www.hostelboookers.com http://www.hostelworld.com and the HI (hostelling international) site.
