questions about trip to MalasyaHi there,
I am planning to go to Malasya at the end of july beginning of August, I have some concerns about a couple of things:
- Firstly, I want to do the trekking up to Kota Kinabalu mountain, is it necessary to book in advance or we should just get there and once there go to an agency and arrange the tour, Because I have been hearing staff about how busy it gets in summer and that unless you have booked previously, you can´t do it.
- Second one, besides Kuala Lampur, Singapur and the Perhentian, would you recommend me any other interesting place in Malasya Peninsula?? are Malaka or Penang really worth it?? cause my great aim is to visit Borneo and its wild nature and wildlife....
Thanks a lot

11....yes,you should book it in advance. If you don't you might still find a place (the accommodation is limited-that's the problem)but you probably won't.
2....depends what you want to see! Penang and Melaka are great for culture/history/food.
If those things don't interest you, then don't go there.
Youm might be interested in trekking in Taman Negara NP in the centre of the peninsular.

5You definitely have to book for the trek. i wanted to do it too but was all book out. disappointing. let me know what is was like when you do it.
Melaka has a pretty cool night market with one of the best curry laksa i have had, its also has some pretty decent bars just in behind the canal.
I recommend visiting Langkawi if you have time. it is a duty free island with great beaches a bar where the beer is only 5 riggit its called the Babylon bar where they have a wicked reggae band. or as low as 1.50 riggit in the stores. they also have a nightclub called Sunbar. Langkawi has a bit of everything its my favourite place in Malaysia.
if you have any questions about Langkawi just ask me.

6Agebull, thank you for answering.
The problem with Langkawi I think is the weather, as I am planning to in Late July, it might be rainy at that time of the season, is there a good snorkel over there anyway??
I am def booking for the trekking to Kota Kinabalu.

7No worries mate. The last time i was there is was late July i stayed for about 15 days it did rain a fair bit, it was much better in late April if i remember correctly.
I don't think Langkawi is really know for snorkeling but i did speak to a few people while i was there they were going to the islands around Langkawi and said it was pretty good, not the best but definitely worth doing.
