South Aral Sea tour

Hi there,

A friend and I, currently living in Tashkent, are planing to visit Moynaq next week -by the Aral Sea. From there, we would love to go on a trip to the actual Sea, or what's left of it.
Can anyone provide us with info on such a tour, or is anyone in the area and would like to share costs on this? We plan this trip for the 24/25 of March.

Thanks for replies!

Why do you want an organized tour?

Hi, I was there last year and organized it through Stan Journeys, which is based in Tashkent. There's a section on their website about special interest tours that includes an Aral Sea tour from Nukus. There's also a trip in the Karakalpakstan desert they offer. http://www.stanjourneys.com/p/special-interest-tours.html

It is very difficult to take in the tragedy of the Aral Sea when you are there. It's staggering.
