The art of the 'blag'

Everyone knows that money saving when travelling is paramount.

Well my question relates to this very point and also explores the idea of the ‘blag’. I am talking about situations where you have been able to sweet talk your way into or out of a situation to your benefit.

Blags occur all the time and it gives us poor, penniless travellers a timely fillip whether it be free entrance to a club or bar, upgrades to first class on flights or train journey or a way to get yourself out of a tight situation.

Blagging can be very rewarding and fun, as long as everything is legal and above aboard. Stretching the truth is a part of our nature and can often work to our benefit.

I am therefore interested in hearing of any experiences of this kind. This can be from any country in the world, from the smallest blag to the biggest.

This could be a fun way to learn of people’s experiences and give others tips and hope for their future benefit.
