Budapest to Sarajevo

Hi

I am looking by train or bus from Budapest to Sarajevo via Belgrade, Serbia. Since it is quite difficult to get a transport train/bus direct to Sarajevo/Banja Luka from Budapest. Probably I would stay 1 night at Belgrade.

There's a direct train from Budapest to Sarajevo. You can see the schedule here. If you want to make a stop in Belgrade, you can see in the same web the schedule of trains from Budapest to Belgrade. You can see the schedule of trains from Belgrade to Sarajevo here.

And in case you want to travel to Banja Luka, take train Budapest - Sarajevo, exit in Doboj, and than catch local train or one of many buses to Banja Luka.

Hi all,

I'm trying to book the train from Sarajevo to Budapest (as direct as possible). The websites for booking trains won't let me book online.

Do any of you know if I can book this far in advance for the end of August? Or maybe it won't let me book online from North America?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

I'd be surprised if you can book Bosnian trains online at all, and even if you can, it'll probably be a lot cheaper to just buy the ticket when you get to Sarajevo...
