New Masoala Lodge

Hi,

I was looking at the Masoala Forest Lodge but have been told by a tour operator there's a new (sounded quite posh) lodge/accomodation opening in Masoala in May 2012, operated by an American who already has 2 other places in Madagascar. "Small Masoala"? Does anyone have any information about it, photos, experiences, how to book, etc? I've not found anything online.

I think it's known as "Petit Masoala"

The place I'm now booked at is known as "Le Petit Relais". Same owner as Le Relais Masoala in Maroantsetra. Apparently it has 8 bungalows.

I've received French PDF docs giving quite a lot of information. If anyone is interested in learning more from them direct, their contact details are:

I just come back from a Masoala trip and I have seen many environment deteriorations around the Petit Relais project area. Very dirty beaches and trails, polluted water, defaced landscapes…According to a local confirmed guide they have no tourism permit, no environment authorization. It's a shame for ecotourism.
On the field the local skilled-workers told me that room won’t be ready before the end of November.

Just stayed at "Petit Relais" as it's known - recommended. Rooms are amazing. Nice to be in a park in Madagascar and feel like we were the only people there! Animals all seen with 30 minutes walk from the lodges and often much closer.
