1Welcome, It would help us help you if you could be a little more specific about your interests and favorite activities.
Also, what type of budget are you looking at?
Remember, we don't know you or anything about you. We can offer lots of tips, but if they don't interest you then we're wasting our time.

4Without knowing when is difficult, but I can highly decommend Varkala if you fancy a trip down here. I am here at the moment, gorgeous place, very chilled (have travelled down from Dehli via Rahjisthan, Agra, Varanasi, Mumbai, Goa and definitely our favourite place yet.
Also Munnar is great for some trekking in the tea plantations, cooler as well...it sits at 1600m above sea level. Again, nice and chilled out. You will need it after the bigger cities, as lovely as they are.

6if u planning to run down from north to south i have some suggestions,
1) september is kinda a good time as the rains will be over by then ( i hope cos am planning to come to india same time :p )
2)from north u can start from Manali in Himachal Pradesh- beautiful hill station.u can also do paragliding river rafting and also do some shopping and yea its also a good place to smoke up( cheap and favorable weather)
if u r a bit more adventurous and if u know how to ride a bike, then rent a royal enfield and ride furthur north to Khar Dungla( heights motorable road on earth) n from manali the route to khardung la is breath taking( amazing view as u accent) plus its dangerous too ( i dn think that matters if u have the adrenaline running)
From Manali u can come to Rishikesh- Nice place and it has indias only BUNGEE JUMP !
From rishikest go to Chandigarh n catch a flight to Delhi-Capital of India..i have no idea what u can actually do cos last time i was there it was heavy rain..but its a nice place to hang arnd and do some shopping in palika bazar and eat some paratas
4) from Delhi u can come to AGRA- see the Taj Mahal ! U MUST ! n get a certified Guide n he will show u stuff on taj mahal u could never imagin. ( he will have a piece of paper with some seal n stuff showing he is from the government)
5)Now u travel from Agra to Jaipur in RAJASTAN- beautiful city with really awesome historic stuff and forts and elephant ride etc etc
DELHI-JAIPUR-AGRA is like a triangle !
if u have more time and interest in history u can go to Jodhpur in Rajastan or Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh ( they are far apart toh)
6) furthur down from Delhi come to MUMBAI !! YEYYYY...awesome place to have all the fun..eat drink and hang out and shopping and blah blah...busy city and freakin HUGE city !!..
take a Volvo Bus ( service every 10 mins) to PUNE( now thats where i did my college)
now Pune is the place where u wanna have all the fun ! best place to eat, best place to drink, best place to shop, best place to PARTY!!!! green and calm city with all u want ! hang around in Koregaon Park and check out OSHO Ashram or go to east street and grab some katti kababs or go to pune central and pick some new cloths ;)
from pune ur next stop will be GOA !..i dont have to say much abt goa rit?? its the place where u loose ur mind,.beach and bikini and beer and what not !..
ok party over..get back on the roads..from goa u can come down to Bangalore in Karnataka..another south indian metro city..dont forget to visit the National parks and the gardens there..
now come to KERALA...GODS OWN COUNTRY..this is the most beautiful state in INDIA>.u will probably start from cochin..enjoy the marine driver, take a boat ride in the water for 30 rupeers for an hour..see the ships at the harbour and the indian navy ships..go to fort cochi and See the protugese building and churches..
some awesome places to check out in kerala are
museum in trivandrum
vayanad forent and safari inside it
tekady wild life scantury
HOUSE BOAT in Alleppy ( u have to stay over night and eat some fresh fish dishes with other kerala dishes)
there are a hell not to see in India.my fingers hurt already ;)
hope u had a good time reading.
above mentioned info are from my personal experiences in India when i used to tour on my bike
there are a lot more stuff to do if u research on the internet ~
