Can we just jump on a bus at cebu towards south stop at oslob and then continue our way to dumaguette with next bus?
Will have full luggage with us.
Any idea when first buses in the morning to oslob will leave?
Do you think this is feasable? Want to do it in 1 day. Guess there is still no accommodation arround anyway..
Thank you!
how much time should we calculate for the busjourney to tan-awan?
how much time would we be allowed with the sharks?
will it be crowded with tourists coz you said we should arrive at 9 at the latest or will it take some time organizing until getting into the water?
will the sharks be there for sure or should we spend the night to have a second try the following morning?

Should be possible, Ceres buses run all day beginning about 6am from Cebu South Terminal down to Lilo An for ferry to Dumaguete. Just ask the bus conductor to let you off at Barangay Tan-awan near Oslob, find somewhere to leave you bags, then when your done catch the next passing bus bound for Lilo An..2
Or just go direct to Dumaguete as many places there now running daytrips to Oslob..3
plenty of buses, they run all night, they must begin earlier than 6am I would think. There is also the v-hire vans that leave from the city link depot just south of the bus terminal. About the same cost as a regular bus. I find them uncomfortable but they are faster since they run non stop to their destinations. Just ask around, shouldn't be difficult to find a place to stow your luggage5
thanks so much guys!how much time should we calculate for the busjourney to tan-awan?

sorry dutch but it does not make sense to me to drive past the passenger ferries leaving at Santander and go all the way down to Bato to catch a roro ferry to get to dumaguete13
putting me on the spot lol...its something you do yourself, I will try and describe it as best I can but surfboy is welcome to chime in, I think he is probably better at this sort of detail. OK the trickiest part is probably the start which is getting a multi-cab truck which is a little passenger truck to the town of Sibulan. You find those on the north side of the Dumaguete public market which is just up from the waterfront along Colon street. Find where the trucks are parked along the north side and squeeze in the back of one. Tell the driver you want the ferry landing because if they don't know they have passengers for it they might pass up it up, happened to me once. The fare I believe is like p15?. Now your going to have a choice of boats to take, a fast ferry and an outrigger banka. I prefer the banka because you have better views and the scenery is really great on that crossing. Fare is like p40? If you take the banka you have to take a trike up to the main road where the bus stop is, like p15 again? Oh and there will be a p2 dock fee you pay when you get off the boat. If you take the fast ferry the buses stop right at that dock. Get a bus headed north and ticket it to Oslob which is a pretty short journey, another p40-50? Surfboy should know actual barangay names in terms of whale watching and all that if that is what your interested in, or just explain where your headed to the conductor, he should know where to drop you off. I might add I am a big proponent of visiting southern Cebu, its a pretty area with some interesting little towns, old Spanish relics. Oslob is the southern most and has some interesting things to look at if you walk around the town. Further north Boljoon, Alcoy, Dalaguete also have some interesting old architecture and pretty outlooks14
Sounds pretty good to me Bounty, fare to Sibulan is now 12 peso. I always take the fast ferry as eaiser to just jump aboard the waiting bus bound for Cebu. Just tell the conductor you want to see the Whalesharks at Oslob and they will drop you at Barangay Tanawan.Think most of the snorkle tours go out early morning so might be best to overnight there. Or just go with one of Harolds organised tours. As Bounty says, some really nice places to visit in Southern Cebu, Dalaguete is a great little town and Argao is nice also..
