Oahu nightlife recommendations for a single guyI've never been to Hawaii before and I would appreciate any help. My trip is set in stone as far as lodgings and dates but I'm up for some recommendations as far as the nightlife goes (no strip clubs please).
I know I shouldn't be worrying about places to go as Hawaii is such a beautiful place but hey, heading out a few nights never hurt anyone.
The first 4 nights I'm staying in a condo right next to The Hilton Waikiki Village and the following 4 nights on the North Shore right on Sunset Beach. I really, really want to check out Turtle Bay Resort as Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of my favorite movies but have heard you have to pay to enter the property, any truth to this?

1From the Hilton, its about a 20 minute walk along the beach to the famous dukes...good place for a few drinks and to meet people...but not cheap. We also really enjoyed the beach front bar Shore Bird, about a 5 minute walk.
Ive been to Oahu 8-9 times, and I have never been anywhere near Turtle Bay, so not advice there.

2I second Dukes.
Last time I was there in April 2011, I actually stayed at the Outrigger on the Beach which is the Hotel that Dukes is in. So we had breakfast every morning at Dukes and usually wound down each night with a drink there as well. Good atmosphere with live bands, good drinks, right on the beach etc.
Also, Moose McGillycuddy's is a decent spot for a drink and to watch some sports.

3Awesome, that's for the input.
I'm staying for 4 days right next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and from the looks of it everything looks to be in the same general area.

4You do not need to pay to go to turtle bay. They are required by law to allow beach access - but there there are only like 12 parking spaces. Turtle bay is also transfer point for thebus (52 and 55 circle island) so you can easily take the bus there from either direction. The beach is nice!
you can also drink in the bars or the restaurants since they are open to the public as well. They can be pretty expensive.
don't hate on the stripclubs- 939 is impressive! 2 story pole! the rest are terrifying.
In town, it depends what you are looking for, I would check out Yelp. some people like moose mcgilicuddy's, senor frogs, and that other irish bar across from it (you can smoke there). They are pretty rowdy with mostly military guys, and can be quite a sausage fest. people are looking to DRINK. This can be fun, but there are lots of guys looking for a fight as well.
The shack can be fun, with live local music. always jawaiian.
chinatown is where the locals go. These bars are not rowdy, a bit dressier (by that I mean no wifebeaters, but sandals are ok and more hipster style. less bar fights.
