Cameroon visa in Berlin or Rabat?

Hi,

we plan to fly on RAM from Berlin to Douala with possible stopover in Marocco. The question is where is better to arrange our Cameroon visa - Berlin or Rabat?

Anyone has an experience with getting visa at either of these places?

Thanks

Good that your problem is solved now. And good for me also because I wonder too to go to Cameroon, not now but maybe later. It was meant to go there last year but then I changed my plans. Could not decide where to go because the country is so big. So I will be happy if you can write some report after your trip there :)

Martina, I wonder, you was flying with RAM to Douala, right? How much costed the ticket. How you bought it, online or had you to call them and book via phone? I was looking anyway and found that I need to call, but if you have some advice how you did I would be grateful. Thanks!

Hi, in the end we went with Ethiopian Airlines because RAM ticket was not flexible at all. We were going to buy it at the travel agent.

Thanks Martina, did you flew via Addis Ababa? How it was? I mean the flight and so. Where you started? I have problem to find some good flight from Stockholm, cheap is via Istanbul and Addis Ababa to Douala, but 30-40 hours. And better flights are so expensive so I cannot find what to do. And I wish so much to see Cameroon.

Ethiopian Airlines are ok, among the best African airlines actually. If you have long stopover at Addis Ababa they may organize a hotel for you, just ask at the transfer desk. The cheapest flights to Cameroon are probably from Paris and Germany, maybe Brussels, cannot you get there from Stockholm by a low-cost airline? I heard lots of bad reports though about Air France loosing the luggage.

Thanks again, I will see if I can solve that on some way.
Anyway about loosing the luggage, they did that for me once too when I was flying from Morocco with just Air France. But, it was even TAP who forgot the luggage in Lisbon when we were going on Sao Tome e Principe, so we had to wait one week before we got it.

But, when I am here, Martina, can you write a little about your trip in Cameroon? Most I am interesting of is to know how you traveled there, if you rented the car or by taxi etc. And how much you spent there total, for the food and hotels etc.
Thank so much in advance.

We travelled by public transport. Painful, slow, but couldn't afford to hire a car. I think we were spending on average 30 - 40 euros a day for two. Never ate in the restaurants though, that's expansive; it was baguettes and Laughing Cow or avocados (cheap, delicious, no plastic waste produced) for us most of the time :-). I also wrote about Lobeke NP in reply to this post http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2176817; and about getting to the CAR from Cameroon here http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=2169923

Thanks so much Martina, it is very helpful :) I wonder to go to Dja reserve but the big problem is first the flight and second that it seems to be expensive so I will see how all will be. If it will be something I will write here report :)
