Cambodia to Laos border crossing

There have been several reports of problems going from Laos to Cambodia border crossing. What i would like to know is how is the Cambodia to Laos border crossing? does the reverse way lessen the hassle? Any pointers?

sorry but I thought this was covered in the other thread manyrivers , it is easy just leave and then get hassled for $2 each side to stamp passport and enter VOA laos sid eis around $35 + $2 overtime if you arrive around 3pm +$2 keep the man in immigration happy charge. Just make sure you have the correct amount in $US ie $35 for visa + overtime $2 + corruption $2 each side to stamp your passport
safe journey lol

Doesn't Laos have the strange system where different nationalities pay different rates for visas? Australia was $30 if my memory is correct. Will I be charged the highest rate ($300 for Equatorial Guinea, perhaps?)

AFAIK, the highest rate applies to Canadians. 42USD?

Otherwise not much difference regarding the fees at the border.

The hassle is onward transportation if you you're using travel agency minivans.
