Fly fishing for novices, with lessons & equipment?
My wife and I are interested in learning how to fly fish, and plan on continuing once we return from a month-long trip to Chile this March. We have spent time looking at various lodges & web sites, and see many interesting places. Most require you to bring your own gear. We want to spend 5-6 days at a lodge, with great food, and the option of other activities, including maybe horse riding, and hiking. We cannot travel through Chile carrying all the gear required (waders, boots, poles, etc), and besides, we don't own those items yet.So, looking for recommendations, preferably from firsthand or second hand knowledge.
Thanks,

Did you look at Green Baker Lodge? They do lessons and also rides and other activities. Beautiful area. I can't see on the website whether you need to take your own equipment.http://www.greenlodgebaker.com/pesca-con-mosca/clases-de-pesca-con-mosca-en-patagonia/
I don't know if you are just thinking of Patagonia or just anywhere in Chile.

Go to Futaleufu and stay somewhere and setup a guide that teaches, I don’t think you want to spend the $500 per person per day that the small lodges charge as novice fly fishermen. There are many other activities you can partake in including some class V white-water rafting. I like Expediciones Chile and have used them several times for mixed activity weeks.http://www.exchile.com/index.html

I think it's better to visit Coyhaique, i know a lot of guides round there that can maybe rent you equipment, make you some flyfishing lessons and also take you hiking or horseback riding to some place in the area.I used to have a flyfishing magazine in Chile and i'm sure that for unexperienced fishers is the best place to go.
Also i'm part of a new company that rents outdoor equipment.
