San Blas Islands
I would recc everyone to check out the san blas islands if you are going to Panama. Absolute must.2
What is the best way to get to the San Blas islands from Panama City? I'm assuming airplane, but what is the cost, location of the airport etc...?3
no no, no airplane. I stayed at a hostel called lunas castle and they had setup a Car/Boat for us it was relatively cheap to go and come back form it.I stayed at Tony's Island. There are quite a few island you can choose from.
Bring some snacks with you for the island. they have liquor and other things that could be available on the island upon request.
the locals cook for you three times a day.

That sounds great... I take it you left from Panama city too? What did it cost, and where do you find the car ride out there?9
I went to the San Blas Islands a few years ago (by plane, wasn't too much at all - just went to the airport in Panama City and bought next day tickets, which is nice if you don't have loads of time in Panama). We stayed at Isla Robinson and loved it! Very basic, but lovely right on the beach of the very small island and the Kuna locals are so lovely. We befriended Mr. Robinson and he took us one day to a pretty close island that is packed with Kuna Yala people....we actually pulled into that island before being taken to Isla Robinson, so don't get worried if you pull up to it before going onto your little island of paradise. Anyways, we spent a few hours there, with kids all over us and wandering around, so I really recommend finding Mr. Robinson if you want to see more culture. You probably want to call ahead to make sure someone can meet you on the mainland to bring you to the island - we didn't, but just happened to luck out that I asked about Isla Robinson and they just happened to be returning someone from there. Also, they'll do daily snorkeling trips, one out to a small island that has a ship wrecked by it - fond memories!
