Where to buy silk scarves in Bangkok.
Is there a market in Bangkok where I can get nice quality Thai Silk scarves? I am looking for the traditional raw silk type long scarves at whole sale prices. On my previous trips, I have been to the weekend Chatuchak market and know there are some booths there but would like to know if I can go to other places in Bangkok. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Jim Thompson sells high-end silks including scarves but you may find some discounted at there two Bangkok outlet stores.3
Jim Thompson does have beautiful stuff but bring your platinum card...not cheap. If you wander around the large clothing and fabric market in Praturnam, bordered by Petchabury Rd. (Rail Link RATCHAPRAROP stop is nearest public trans.) will have a lot of selection at low prices. There is also a lot of fake silk on sale so be careful. You really have to go deep into the market for the best goods.

Yes, Jim Thompson is not cheap and does not work for me at the prices they sell at. I am looking for whole sale prices for larger quantities. I have been to the Pratunam (Indra Market?) but did not see much in scarves. Maybe I missed that section. Yes you do have to be careful of the fake Chinese silk all over.
