Visa for Iran

Hi,

I'm planning to travel in Iran this summer and I have a few questions concerning the visa issue:

1- I live in Canada but have (thanks god) an hungarian passport. Is it possible to get the iranian visa from the embassy here without to much problems? And if yes, those anyone knows a good agency that I could use?

2- Or, as before Iran I will be travelling in Central Asia, would it be easier to ask for the visa the embassies there (Tashken? Almaty?)?.

Thank you!

1. Both your Canadian and Hungarian passports are ok, don't worry about any of those. With your Hungarian passport, you can get a 15 day on arrival visa without any prior application as well.

2. I suggest to collect the visa at your country since some of the embassies in Central Asia are not so helpful and may make hassle for you.

To get a visa for Canadian passport holder at the Consulate in Ottawa it takes 3-4 weeks or if you pay 50% more than the visa fee ($80 plus $40) and you have an authorization number already issued, it will take 24 hrs. I would strongly advise to get your visa prior to travel. We used key2persia.com in Shiraz to get our visa sponsorship number and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran issued a number within a week, it usually takes 10 working days.

We can also recommend Key2persia, we had our authorisation code within 7 days of them receiving our payment. They are also very quick to respond to emails and any problems that may occur.
