visit Venetian place in Macau
get on trains or cable cars that will show case HK city or city lights
Any tips?
Also, any hostels you can recommend around causeway bay area that is near MTR station, clean and cheap.
thanks!

Quite a few hostels in Paterson Street in Causeway Bay.Ocean Park is busy on Sundays, as is Macau. So best to not go to either at weekends. You can catch a ferry direct from HKIA to and from Macau, so perhaps do the Venetian at the start or the beginning.
There is lots to see besides the Venetian in Macau.
The Star ferry at night and the Peak Tram are a good way to see the lights. Also, see the north side of HK island by tram is a cheap and good way to see the place.
Going up Nathan Rd on the number 6 bus is a cheap way to see that part of town.

I am actually looking at Paterson Street myself and thanks for confirming. Thing is are they more of the walk in reservation types? OI sent emails though hoping for a response. Is it recommended to take that octopus card if i am staying for 4 days? I will be with 3 other friends so of course we will share the bills on some transportation and lodging..
Merry Christmas!

Yes, would be a good idea to get an octopus card each. I'd recommend getting the Standard Octopus for HK$150 - the tourist products are only worthwhile if you plan to do a lot of travelling on the MTR.Some hostels accept reservations - often you have to use booking sites. The advantage of not booking is that you can check the room and bed before handing over any money. There are quite a few choices in that area.
